Top hammer drilling, is a rock drilling method where the hammer is located outside the hole together with the rotation mechanism. It transfers impact energy to the bit through the drilling rods. Top hammer drilling is used in mining, quarrying, and construction for small to medium hole diameter and drilling depth up to 15-20 m.
